Growing up in a rural area with chickens, dogs, cats and a horse, Dr. Maloney was home-schooled from junior high through high school, then went to the University of Hawaii for her undergraduate education. She was accepted to the University of Minnesota DVM Class of 2007. The winter of 2003 was her very first! She did not intend to stay in Minnesota but ended up finding Dave, now her husband, who is well rooted in the area. On her free time, Dr. Maloney enjoys exploring the woods with her poodle Lola, dog training, horseback riding, cooking and visiting her parents in Hawaii once a year.

Dr. Maloney started out as an associate at Winona Veterinary Hospital after graduation, then spent three years traveling and working in Oregon in Wisconsin.
